THE OLD ME

I looked free but I was bound, Happy but was hurting, Clean but was filthy.

THE NEW ME

Out of my hopelessness, You gave me hope,Once unloved, I feel like a bride, The one You love, the apple of Your eye.

THE OLD AND THE NEW

Some words have the ability to shake you, transform your thinking, and reshape your life. They have the power to turn your life in a completely new direction. For me, those words came from the bible in 2 Corinthians 5:17 which says,

“ …if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Though such a simple statement, it lead me to believe that no matter how bad my past was, the kind of person I was, or what I have done, I can have a fresh beginning with God. Despite the feelings of guilt and worthlessness I used to have, I am now glad to know that I am fully loved by a perfect God. This project is a celebration of my new identity. Once an outcast, I am now a daughter of the Most High God, a King. I am now accepted, forgiven, and loved.
